The Caring for Country music competition is raising awareness of the importance of caring for Country through biosecurity.

Biosecurity involves protecting our environment, maintaining the overall health and wellbeing of the land, its ecosystems, and safeguarding the people who depend on them. 

The Caring for Country Music Competition is expanding in 2025 and invites song and dance entries from all residents of the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland!

There is a total prize pool of $29,500. The prize categories for each state and territory are:

1. Schools $2,500
2. Groups $2,500
3. Solo $1,500 
4. Dance Video $2,500 (New)

All shortlisted song entries will be available on the website for voting, with the winner of the $2,500 People’s Choice Award chosen by the community.

Entries will open Monday 14 July 2025 and will close Sunday 5 October 2025.

This competition is a partnership between Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Northern Territory Government, Anima Co and MusicNT.
